This event is a sequel to recent commemorations of the First World War, including those held by Penarth Cytun. Sir Deian Hopkin, former Vice-Chancellor of the South Bank University, London, and Expert Adviser to the First Minister on the First World War centennary, will be speaking at the Temple of Peace at 7pm on Thursday 24th October on 'The Impact of the First World War on Wales, 1918-1922', and thus on the aftermath of the First World War on our own community. Cardiff and District United Nations Association supports internationalism, and holds its meetings in the Temple of Peace (between the Bute Building and the Redwood Building along King Edward VII Avenue in Cathays Park). Penarth Quakers are one of its dozen or so affiliated bodies, and normally meet in West House, Plymouth Road, Penarth on Sundays at 10.30am. Cardiff UNA frequently holds joint meetings with one or other of its affiliates; this meeting is such a joint meeting. Admission is free and unrestricted. All are welcome. There will be a voluntary collection to cover expenses.

Please note that this event takes place in room 0.45 of the John Percival Building.
