4.30-5.00pm: Drinks Reception in MLANG Foyer
5.00-6.00pm: Website presentation and discussion in MLANG 2.22

An event to launch Professor Gordon Cumming’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) website (https://thetoolkit.me).

The site is designed to encourage Non-Governmental Organisations, charities and volunteer organisations to engage in monitoring and evaluation. M&E is often considered too difficult, too costly and too time-consuming. Yet NGOs do need to know that they are having a positive impact and not doing harm.

Here are some of the points that will be covered in the presentation:

  • The website includes shortcuts such as the 1-2-3 Method that help to get associations thinking ‘evaluatively’

  • It is accompanied by a video tutorial which will be translated into multiple languages

  • It includes reflective tools for volunteers as well as templates, a glossary, worked examples

  • It includes a downloadable pack in Welsh

  • It should be easily readable on mobile, tablet and desktop devices. So you can consult this site when you’re out in the field!

Simultaneous Translation
The event will be delivered in the medium of English. You are welcome to ask questions in the medium of Welsh during the Q&A session. If you intend to do this, please contact mlang-events@cardiff.ac.uk by Wednesday 23 October to request simultaneous translation. Please note that 10% or more of those planning to attend will need to request this provision in order for it to be sourced and will be subject to resource availability.

We apologise that the entire registration page is not available in the medium of Welsh; unfortunately, the platform we use does not offer this Service.
