Sutton Trust programmes

Providing opportunities and information, advice, and guidance about university courses that lead on to specific professions.

All Sutton Trust programmes are free and open to Year 12 pupils in Sixth Form or college who have experienced educational disadvantage or disruption and those who come from groups that are under-represented in higher education.

Are you, or do you know someone, interested in a career in law?

Pathways to Law provides the opportunity to:

  • attend exclusive academic workshops, including an introduction from The Innocence Project
  • apply for work experience and industry insight days, such as a visit to The Inner Temple
  • attend a residential in the holidays
  • meet current university students and academics who study and teach law
  • get support with UCAS applications, as well as much more

Are you, or do you know someone, interested in a career in engineering?

Pathways to Engineering provides the opportunity to:

  • attend exclusive academic and hands-on workshops
  • apply for work experience and industry insight days, such as a visit to the Mercedes Petronas site
  • attend a residential in the holidays
  • meet current university students and academics who study and teach engineering
  • get support with UCAS applications, as well as much more

Are you, or do you know someone, interested in a career in medicine or dentistry?

The Sutton Trust Summer Schools provide the opportunity to:

  • attend a 4-day residential summer school at Cardiff University
  • practice clinical skills at a working dental or medical hospital
  • meet current university students and industry professionals
  • practice Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs), the interview process used at Cardiff for Medicine and Dentistry courses (and many other universities)
  • get support with UCAS applications as well as much more
