Chris McGuigan Symposium

The Chris McGuigan Symposium is an opportunity to remember Professor McGuigan and celebrate pioneering work around the world in the field of drug discovery.

This biennial symposium is hosted by the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. It will be held each September in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027.

All three winners of the Chris McGuigan Drug Discovery Awards are announced at the symposium with the awards being presented by our generous sponsor, Dr Geoff Henson.

Winners of the Chris McGuigan Drug Discovery Awards are invited to give a lecture about their research and work at the symposium.

It was a great day, with excellent scientific talks and intellectually stimulating conversations. I believe it was a truly inspirational event, in particular to the young researchers that have attended. I think it was a very fitting way to honour and remember Chris and the incredible person he was.
