Samina Khan

Samina Khan retired from work after a 37-year long career in further education.  Having started her career as a biology lecturer in Manchester, she moved across to adult education to manage and develop ESOL, then also ABE and learning provision for adults with disabilities in Cardiff Council over a 23-year period.

Samina’s most recent role was Equality, Diversity and Community Development Manager at Cardiff and Vale College and was involved in the management of the pioneering WG funded Anti-Racist Curriculum Development, launched at the Senedd in June ‘23.

In addition to serving as a governor for a range of third sector organisations, Samina has engaged and led a range of initiatives including All Wales ESOL policy, curriculum and E&D developments, leading multi-agency partnerships across the sector for ESOL and Community Cohesion (Prevent).

Samina served on the Cricket Committee as the Wales representative for interpreting the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 and held a public appointment on the Advisory Board for Naturalisation and Citizenship for implementation of Citizenship tests across the UK.
