Privacy

Your privacy is important to us and this notice sets out the information that will be collected in your use of the Cardiff University students app and what it will be used for.

Usage data

When using the guest profile, our system does not collect any personal data from which you can be identified. The app does collect app statistics (further explained below) which is hosted and managed by a third party company (Google, Inc.).

When logging into the app using your University credentials, we may collect personal information as specified in our student and applicant data protection notice.

User geolocation

Certain parts of the app use geolocation eg to show which buildings are nearby, and to provide directions to buildings. Users who choose to use Google Maps within the app are bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (including the Google Privacy Policy).

App user preferences/statistics

User preferences are saved on the device. The Ex Libris Group, the app supplier, hosts web analytics software - further information can be found in their privacy policy.

Data protection

You can also read our website privacy notice, which details personal data usage and collection when you use our website.
