Bioaccumulation and food chains with the Otter Project

Pupils (KS2-4) are guided through the concepts of food chains and bioaccumulation in the context of real life and current research examples.

As well as lessons on food chains and bioaccumulation, there are literacy, numeracy and thinking activities for starters and plenaries. For example:

  • developing vocals
  • odd one out
  • source square
  • memory graph
  • cloze activity.

All lessons are themed around otters and how they are at risk from pollution. All resources have been developed in collaboration with a secondary school teacher. These resources are available on the TES website. Three different lesson plans:
