Open Days and visits for undergraduate study
Experience what it's like to study in one of the most beautiful university cities in the UK.
Virtual open days
Our first virtual Open Day of 2021 will take place on Wednesday 21 April.
More information about this event will be available in the new year, so register your interest to be kept up to date and know when bookings open.
When the event is on
While you can browse our virtual open day content year-round, when the event is running, you'll get the chance to:
- live chat with our staff, including Residences, Admissions and Student Support teams
- live chat with academic staff and current students
- watch live webinars and ask questions.
Visit our virtual open day pages to learn more about us before April’s event.
Before the Open Day, it might be helpful to order or download a copy of our prospectus.
Fairs and conventions
If you are unable to attend our virtual open days, there will still be opportunities to talk to us at virtual fairs and conventions.
Campus tours
Whilst we are currently unable to host any on-campus events, like Open Days, we appreciate how important it is for students to be able to visit a university before making a decision on where they want to live and study.
Therefore, once restrictions allow and it is safe to do so, we hope to run a series of small group campus tours to enable prospective students to get a real insight into Wales’ top ranked University.
We would love to show you around our Cathays Park Campus so you can see for yourself why Cardiff University was voted one of the top ten most beautiful universities in the UK (The Times Higher Education 2018).
These student-led walking tours will last approximately one hour and will be conducted completely outdoors, and in line with the latest government safety advice.
Please note, tours of the School of Journalism and Heath Park Campus (home to the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Healthcare Sciences) will not be available.
Register your interest
For further information, register your interest and be amongst the first to know when bookings for our campus tours open.
In the meantime, why not take a look at our virtual campus tour?
Self-guided campus tour
Although we’re not running physical Open Days at the moment, you can use our self-guided campus tour to help you explore our Cathays Park campus, which is located just a few minutes' walk from Cardiff's city centre.
The tour lasts approximately one hour, but you can also take several optional detours, depending on what you'd like to visit.
