We will be running a series of online talks for Year 13 students during the last week of November, covering all the important things you need to think about if you want to start university in September 2021.
There will also be opportunities to ask our staff and students any questions about applying and what it's like to study at Cardiff University.
Taking the next step – how you will be supported at university
Monday 23 November 2020, 16:30-17:30
Becoming a university student can be an exciting experience but, from time to time, you may feel like you need a bit more support. There are several student support teams who will be able to help you with a range of matters from finance and counselling to disability and life in residence. Our ‘taking the next step’ session will look at these and give tips on how to prepare (and enjoy) the transition from school to university.
University interviews – what to expect
Tuesday 24 November 2020, 16:30-17:30
Our ‘university interviews’ session will look at why universities interview and what formats you may expect. We will discuss how to prepare and what common mistakes to avoid. Interviews can naturally feel like a daunting prospect but we hope to be able to provide you with the confidence to approach them with a positive attitude to help you to perform to the best of your ability.
Personal statements session plus an opportunity to question our staff on Unibuddy
Wednesday 25 November 2020, 16:30-17:30

We will take a look at the purpose of the personal statement and offer advice on what to include, what to avoid and how to create a statement to really showcase why you deserve to be made an offer.
Student life with Q&A - delivered by our current students
Thursday 26 November 2020, 16:30-17:30

There will also be an opportunity to question our students about their experiences of both Cardiff University and student life more generally.
