Plan your campus visit

Campus Visits

Campus Visit Days are not full Open Days, but will give you a brief overview of life at Cardiff University.

Please note you will need to bring your Eventbrite ticket with you on the day, either on a device or printed.

Arrival and registration

Our Campus Visit Day will run from 09:30-15:30 on Saturday 1 December 2018. You are welcome to come and go as you please throughout the day.

On arrival in Cardiff, please make your way to the University’s Main Building to register your attendance and collect an information pack.

Staff and students (wearing University t-shirts) will also be available as you arrive to provide further advice and guidance.

What's on

You will be able to:

  • visit and tour the campus
  • see the Students' Union, rated top four in the UK
  • visit our City of Cardiff drop-in shop
  • attend our Residences talk to find out more about living in our student halls
  • attend our ‘Why Cardiff?’ talk to find out more about Cardiff University, the support available to you and quiz our student panel
  • find out more about our Academic Schools and meet current students in our Subject Fair
  • watch our student-led films (some of which are created by our own students) whilst munching on some complimentary popcorn!

Since our students are currently in residence, it will not be possible to visit our residences or any individual academic schools during these Campus Visits.

The programme will be available closer to the date of our Campus Visit Day.

Getting around

All buildings on the Cathays Campus are within easy walking distance of each other. If you want a tour of the city, you can join the City Sightseeing Hop On, Hop Off Cardiff tour bus. On presentation of a flyer collected on the day, prospective students and their families will be entitled to a reduced ticket.

Buses will run from National Museum Cardiff (bottom of the steps) from 10:10 every 30 minutes. The last bus to do a complete tour back to Cardiff Castle will be at 14:40.

Accessibility

We aim to provide an accessible environment for all applicants, students and visitors. If you or any member of your party have special requirements we will accommodate additional requirements.
