Cathays Park campus tours
We are delighted to announce that we will be offering external tours of our Cathays Park Campus over the coming months to give you a flavour of what we can offer.
What it will cover
The tour, which lasts approximately one hour, will cover the central areas of our Cathays Park Campus. It will be led by our friendly student ambassadors, who will be happy to answer your questions about studying and living in Cardiff.
Tours will be conducted outside and will not include any internal areas, such as our accommodation. But you can get a feel for what we offer by browsing our accommodation or taking our virtual tour.
Each tour will consist of a maximum of 12 visitors (plus a guide), with only one guest allowed per student. Guests must be booked in advance.
Please note that no academic staff will be present on the day. Due to the wide range of courses we offer, we cannot guarantee that the tour will be conducted by a student who is studying your subject of interest.
Additional Schools on campus
External tours to the Schools of Engineering, Physics, Optometry and Vision Sciences and the School of Journalism, Media and Culture will only be available on request. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org in advance to arrange an extended tour (approximately one hour extra) once you have booked your general tour.
We are unable to visit the Heath Park Campus, where the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine and Healthcare Sciences are based. However, students studying Dentistry (BDS), Medicine and Medical Pharmacology all spend some time on our Cathays Park Campus in the first year.
Book your place
Preparing for the tour
Tours will be undertaken on foot, so please wear suitable footwear and come prepared for the weather.
Toilet and handwashing facilities will be available, so please bring a face mask with you.
Cancelling your place
If you are unable to make your tour, please cancel your place as soon as possible, so we can offer other students the opportunity to visit.
If anything changes
Some sessions may need to be rescheduled or cancelled at short notice if Welsh government guidance changes.
If you book a visit, we will notify you of any changes via email or mobile phone (if details are provided). However, we will be unable to reimburse you for any expenses incurred from a cancelled or postponed visit.
Please note that we are led by guidance from the Welsh Government, which has devolved responsibility for Health in Wales, and rules may differ slightly from other parts of the UK.
Please do not attend your tour if you, anyone you live with or anyone in your extended household has tested positive for, or has symptoms of, coronavirus (COVID-19)—or if you've been identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) by the government Track and Trace service.
Please ensure you maintain a distance of two metres from other people/households at all times.
