Studying, Living and Working in Welsh taster day

Our Study, Live and Work through Welsh day for secondary school students provides an overview of Welsh university life and the opportunities that come with studying in Welsh.

We work with various organisations and institutions to offer an engaging day filled with activities for Welsh-medium secondary school pupils in South Wales:

What can pupils expect?

Pupils will have the chance to:

  • attend academic sessions led by university staff
  • take part in a panel discussion and receive guidance on completing UCAS forms
  • visit the Cardiff University Students' Union to explore career and subject stands, and hear from current students, alumni, and employers
  • learn about academic, extracurricular, and professional opportunities through Welsh

Following the success of our first taster day in 2024, we’re hosting another Welsh-medium schools taster day on Wednesday 11 June 2025, from 09:30 to 14:30.

The event will take place on the campus of Cardiff University.

The day will feature various engaging sessions led by representatives from all three partner institutions, as well as a panel session hosted by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.

The aim is to promote the academic, extracurricular, and professional opportunities available to learners in these institutions and beyond.
