Bursaries for Welsh STEMM students
The Welsh Government has announced funding for a bursary scheme to attract Welsh students to do their master’s degrees in Wales.
The Welsh Government's bursary for postgraduates aims to increase the number of Welsh graduates who remain in or return to Wales to undertake a master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine, also known as 'STEMM' subjects. Additional funding will also be available to undertake a master’s degree in Welsh.
This funding announced is in addition to the new funding package announced in March of up to £17,000 towards master's studies and living costs for Welsh students, the most generous student finance package in the UK.
Statistics published earlier this year showed a 58% increase in the number of postgraduates applying for student support in Wales.
Further details on these new bursaries will be published on this page and emailed to current applicants as soon as it has been confirmed.
