Entry requirements for Ethiopia
Our entry requirements will vary depending on your level of study, the course you are interested in and your English language proficiency.
If you have graduated from the national high school system, you will be required to successfully complete a one year International Foundation Programme before entering our undergraduate courses.
You will be required to successfully complete the School Leaving Certificate with an overall average of Very Good and at least Very Good in key subject areas to be considered for admission on to our International Foundation Programme.
Some subjects, such as healthcare allied professions, will require higher grades. Please contact the Foundation Office for more information.
For entry to our undergraduate programmes, you will need to successfully complete an acceptable international foundation programme or have good A-Levels/ International Baccalaureate grades or successfully complete years 1 or 2 of a Bachelors Degree at a recognised University in Ethiopia.
Postgraduate taught courses
You will be required to have a good bachelor's degree with the equivalent of an upper second or a very good lower second grade to qualify for our postgraduate taught programmes.
Postgraduate research courses
There are a number of possible entry routes to our postgraduate research courses. We will consider applicants who have successfully completed a Masters from a recognised institution.
In some cases, we will consider applicants who only have a Bachelor's degree (minimum Second Class, Higher Division), although applicants may be required to complete a Master's course at Cardiff University prior to embarking upon PhD studies.
A relevant English Language Qualification is also required. You should gain a minimum of a C in their Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE).
