Stem Cell Tissue Engineering Summer School
Stem Cell Tissue Engineering is a vibrant and fast-growing area of study. Join us this summer and discover your potential as a scientist!
The Biomedicine and Human Disease, Cancer Biology, Neuroscience, Psychology and Stem Cell Engineering Summer Schools will run from Saturday 11 July 2020 - Saturday 25 July 2020.
Our lectures and workshops in this Summer School will introduce you to various fascinating topics about stem cell biology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Our Summer School shall be mainly based in Cardiff University's School of Dentistry which is based in the third largest University hospital in the UK! It’s also the only dental school in Wales which provides unique and important leadership in dental research, teaching and patient care.
Our Summer School programme is designed to provide you with an introduction to biomedical and biological research and the crucial role it has to play in developing solutions to modern-day challenges on health care, climate and global resources.
The academic programme consists of a series of lectures that will introduce you to topics such as:
- Stem cell biology
- Regenerative medicine
- Tissue engineering
- Molecular biology
Plus, current clinical applications of stem-cell-based therapy in these areas in Cardiff.
You’ll also get a hands-on laboratory practical in stem cell biology as part of this Summer School which provides training in many widely employed laboratory techniques in biomedicine including stem cell maintenance, proliferation and differentiation, and gain practical skills of biomaterials design and development.
Please note this is subject to change and does not include all the lectures and workshops that will be covered.
