The Physical Sciences and Engineering Summer Schools will develop your understanding of the subject area, giving you a unique, first-hand experience of working in laboratories, industrial application, and design and architecture.

Schools include Architecture, Chemistry, Computer Science and Informatics, Engineering, Physics and Astronomy and Mathematics.

You will have the opportunity to learn from industry and academic experts in the field while developing a range of practical skills. Working effectively in a small group environment and solving problems using an integrated, multidisciplinary approach forms the basis of each of our Schools.

The Schools run between 20 July - 3 August 2019, and specialise in the following areas:

Advanced Materials Summer School

Gain an insight into a range of materials and their applications from the fundamental to practical from the perspective of chemistry, engineering and physics.

Big data PC screen

Big Data and High-Performance Computing Summer School

Taught by experts in statistics, operational research and computer science, this programme will help you develop both theoretical understanding and practical experience of applying methods drawn from data science and analytics.

Catalysis students

Catalysts in Chemistry Summer School

The course explores the varied presence and application in chemistry of the differing types of catalyst and catalytic applications.

Cybersecurity Summer School

Taught by experts in different aspects of security and privacy, this course identifies key challenges in designing and implementing secure systems.
