Stem Cell Tissue Engineering Summer School

Stem Cell Summer School

The lectures and workshops in this Summer School will introduce you to various fascinating topics about stem cell biology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

This Summer School is now closed for 2019 applications.

The Summer School shall be mainly based in Cardiff University's School of Dentistry - the only dental school in Wales which provides unique and important leadership in dental research, teaching and patient care.

The Summer School programme is designed to provide you with an introduction to biomedical and biological research and the crucial role it has to play in developing solutions to modern-day challenges on health care, climate and global resources.

The academic programme consists of a series of lectures that will introduce you to the topics of stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, nanotechnology, biomaterials, immunology, molecular biology, and current clinical applications of stem-cell-based therapy in these areas in Cardiff.

A hands-on laboratory practical in stem cell biology is also part of this Summer School which provides training in many widely employed laboratory techniques in biomedicine including stem cell maintenance, proliferation and differentiation, practical skills of biomaterials design and development.
