Download our app for a brand-new way of immersing yourself in sport and fitness.
Our free Sport app allows you to book gym sessions, fitness classes and facilities, as well as access class schedules. Members will now be able to book visits with us easier than ever, up to a week in advance.
You can find out what we have to offer, whether it’s exploring the Athletic Union student clubs and our intra-mural games (IMG) leagues, or discovering our four fantastic sport and fitness facilities - immerse yourself in sport and fitness at Cardiff University.
Check out and book upcoming fitness classes, gym sessions and facilities across the facilities at the Sports Training Village, Fitness and Conditioning Centre and Studio 49. You can also manage and amend your bookings all in one place.
Please note that our sport facilities are currently closed in line with the Welsh Government alert level 4 restrictions, therefore the booking feature will be unavailable until we are scheduled to re-open.
Booking a facility, class or session
Currently members are able to view and make bookings through the app for the following facilities:
- gym sessions
- fitness classes
- badminton courts
- squash courts
- other facilities will be available in the future
Facilities are only bookable 7 days in advance. If you are unable to view a facility it could mean the session could be full or the fitness instructor is unable to deliver the class, meaning it will no longer appear on the app. You will not be able to book a gym session until you have completed a Health Commitment Statement or undertaken a Fitness Facility Induction, if preferred.
If you are interested in booking other sports facilities you may make enquiries by calling the relevant facility.
Booking multiple sessions
We do not currently permit members to book back-to-back fitness gym sessions. We would like to ensure all members have an opportunity to book a gym session. If spaces are available in a subsequent gym session you will be permitted to join, but you are unable to book it in advance using the app
Cancel a booking
You can cancel through ‘My Account’ up to 48 hours prior to your session. If it is less than this please call us or send us an email as you won’t be able to do this via the app. Late cancellation penalties may apply.
A booked session will be cancelled if a charge is expected but not paid. The app will automatically delete unpaid bookings.
If you do not cancel a booking that you are unable to attend the booking will be recorded as a ‘no show’. You will be unable to obtain a refund and it could lead you to losing any advanced booking privilege.
Never miss a thing
Keep up to date with gym and sport facility closures, important updates, offers and events.
You can download the app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play by searching 'Cardiff University Sport' and following the onscreen instructions. The app is available to download on both your smart phone and tablet. To find the app on your tablet, you’ll need to filter your search for ‘phone apps’.
To download the Welsh language version of the app, open the ‘hamburger’ menu (the three horizontal lines you see at the top left of the app) and select the ‘My Clubs’ option. Add a selection by clicking on the ‘+’ icon on the top right hand side of the screen. Search for ‘Chwaraeon Prifysgol Caerdydd’ and select once found. You should now be able to use the app in Welsh.
Cardiff University students and staff
You will need to use is your internal Cardiff University student/staff email account ****@cardiff.ac.uk. This is the email address you type in. However your normal University IT password will not work.
If you don’t hold an internal Cardiff University email address the Mobile App will recognise the external email address you provided us when you first registered as a member. Please use that email address.
If you are using the app for the first time you will need to select ‘reset your password’ otherwise you will be unable to log in to your account to make bookings.
Your password needs to be at least 8 characters in length and contain:
- At least one upper case letter
- At least one lower case letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
You will receive an email sent to your email account. Please follow instructions in the email as you will need the membership ID to make a new password.
Once you have found your membership ID click on the link to take you to the sign in page.
Please enter the membership ID from the email and then choose a new password.
Log in with your email and new password.
If this does not work try deleting the app and reinstall, then follow the instructions above.
Resetting your password
If you do not receive an email within 5 minutes of submitting a ‘reset your password’ request it may be that your email address is not registered against your membership record. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your detail so we may update your membership record. Enquiries to this email address will be responded to as quickly as possible.
The link within the email will only be valid for 15 minutes to reset your password. If you do not complete this password within this timeframe you will need to request to reset your password again.
Setting a new password
If the system does not accept your new password it may be because of the following;
Your link email has expired.
Your ‘New Password’ and ‘Confirm Password’ fields do not match.
Please note Cardiff University Sport cannot reset your password for you, nor can we see your password to provide you with this information. Email us at email@example.com for advice if you continue to have difficulties. Enquiries to this email address will be responded to as quickly as possible.
If you are receiving a 'multiple accounts' error you will need to input the relevant Member ID for your specific account. If you have any difficulties, or need to question this please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Facility rates and hire charges
Facility prices displayed in the app are linked to your account and should reflect your membership status. If you have a valid membership and the incorrect rate is displayed this could mean that your membership subscription has not gone through or has not linked to your membership account.
Send us a screenshot of your membership confirmation email or your purchase to email@example.com so we can check the details and correct your membership record. Enquiries to this email address will be responded to as quickly as possible.
