Our Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Post-Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) programme is suited to graduates who want to pursue a teaching career in post-16 contexts, for example:
- higher, further, adult, community and nurse education
- prison education
- training and development
- vocational education and training.
This one year, full-time programme maintains contemporary, cutting-edge quality and high status among training and education providers locally and across the UK.

Whilst encouraging individual learning approaches, this course programme also recognises the value of group and team work in interrogating professional experience and further developing skills and expertise.
The programme addresses a range of teaching placement subjects and vocational areas.

The autumn semester of the programme is university-based, with workplace orientation, followed by a five month period of continuous placement and teaching practice in the spring semester.
Please note: this course is not suitable for those wishing to teach in primary and secondary schools.
