Activities on campus

Female students studying in single booths

We’re adapting our student spaces, cafés and sports facilities in line with social distancing guidelines so you can still enjoy the experiences of campus life.

While we’ll do everything we can to ensure you get the best student experience, the pandemic means some parts of your time on campus will be different and things may change at short notice.

Clubs and societies

Our Students' Union has 200 societies and 65 sports clubs. Like all areas, these will be subject to government guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our members. Student societies will continue to be supported and will have opportunities to organise small, socially distant gatherings in the Students' Union.

Online social events

If you are living in University accommodation, your Residence Life Team will be hosting online social events every week throughout the semester. Events will include coffee lounges, quizzes, movie nights, language clubs, games and much more. Find out what's happening and book your place.

Catering on campus

Our cafés and restaurants are open with additional safety measures in place. These include:

  • enhanced cleaning
  • social distancing measures
  • queue management
  • longer opening times
  • installation of perspex screens
  • reduced seating-capacity.

Food will be pre-packaged where possible. We may need to reduce some of our menus while still offering as much choice and variety as we can.
