Co-operation for Growth

The Co-operation for Growth (Co-Growth) project aims to facilitate co-operation across the Welsh drinks sector through the application of cluster-based research.

Aims

The project's vision is to develop resilient Welsh Drinks supply chains by facilitating, enabling and guiding co-operation through a cluster-based approach.

The project aims are to:

  • identify best practices related to co-operation among companies, to present demonstrative evidence of the benefits from horizontal and vertical collaboration
  • help inform drinks producers to take effective decisions on when to collaborate, who to collaborate with, and the benefits of collaboration
  • develop a set of models, tools and techniques to enable and enhance joint partnerships within the sector
  • help businesses grow sustainably with incremental capital investment while meeting environmental goals.

Project stages

The project will include three stages:

  • internal operations excellence - tackling current barriers
  • identifying and modelling collaborative clusters - estimating benefits and anticipating challenges
  • running pilot clusters - demonstrating benefits and addressing challenges
