Dr Unai Lopez
Research Software Engineer, Data Innovation Research Institute
I am a computer scientist interested in parallel and distributed computing, with focus on High Performance Computing (HPC) systems and their applications.
I finished the studies of Computer Science in 2010 at the University of Deusto, a MSc in Distributed Systems in 2011 at the University of the Basque Country, and I obtained my PhD in 2015 at the University of the Basque Country within the Intelligent Systems Group with a dissertation entitled "Contributions to the Efficient Use of General Purpose Coprocessors: Kernel Density Estimation as Case Study".
After that, I was a research associate for two years in the MoreLab group of DeustoTech, involved in several projects related to distributed computing and artificial intelligence. During that time I was also a MSc thesis advisor in the online Master’s Degree in Cyber Security of the International University of La Rioja (UNIR).
- Member of the European Network on High Performance and Embedded Architecture and Compilation (HIPEAC).
- Program Committee member of the IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing (UIC).
