Business Development Manager - College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Phil is the Business Development Manager within the CPD Unit and the principal liaison between the CPD Unit and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
His role includes supporting colleagues in the development and delivery of flexible CPD offerings, including short courses through to standalone postgraduate modules, as well as monitoring, collating and reporting on data in relation to CPD activity.
He is passionate about working with the academic departments to help disseminate the wealth of knowledge and expertise we have within the University to private, public, and third sector organisations through practical, engaging and impact-focused training programmes.
I joined the CPD Unit having previously worked in an international development role at Swansea University which saw him working throughout the Middle East, as well as China and Russia. Before this, I worked in industry-facing business engagement roles at Cardiff University and Aberystwyth University, as well as the University of Bedfordshire, where he oversaw the Luton Higher Level Skills project.
I have a first class degree in Business Management from the University of Chester, an MSc in Strategic Entrepreneurship from Southampton University, and is currently undertaking doctoral research, sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Wales, looking at the behavioural characteristics of Generation Z entrepreneurs in Wales.
