Lecturer: Occupational Therapy
I joined the School of Health Care as a full time Occupational Therapy lecturer in February 2017 having previously worked in a range of Adult Community Occupational Therapy services and actively engaging in practice/academic links and research.
I am part of the Academic Practice Education Team and I am passionate about supporting students and Practice Educators to provide the best possible placement opportunities and experiences.
I am also interested in Problem Based Learning and supporting the use and development of reflective practice and clinical reasoning skills in the provision of quality Occupational Therapy education.
I have an interest in quality practice education, using and linking theory to practice, team working, and environmental barriers to occupational engagement.
I have over twenty years Occupational Therapy practice experience in a range of settings, including Adult Social Services, Housing, Intermediate Care and Adult Health and Social Care Integrated Community Teams, working as a Community Occupational Therapist, Deputy Team Manager, Team Manager and Professional Lead.
