Dr Carmela Bosangit joined Cardiff Business School as a Lecturer in Marketing in 2017. 

Her research interests include ethical consumption, responsible business practices, consumer/tourist experiences and consumer narratives in social media.  Past research projects include ethical consumption and responsible business practices in the jewellery industry, ecolabel certifications, flexible ethical consumption of tourists in St Ives and environmentally conscious behaviour of UAE consumers.

She completed her PhD in Business and Management at the University of Nottingham and her Masters of Science degree in Leisure, Tourism and Environment at the Wageningen University, Netherlands. Her PhD is funded by the highly competitive Nottingham University Business School Scholarship while her masters degree was sponsored by the Dutch Government’s NUFFIC Academic Fellowship.  Dr Bosangit's PhD thesis used discourse analysis to examine consumption experiences from the perspectives of the travel bloggers.

She has 10 years of experience as a tourism researcher in the Philippines and was a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Philippines.  In 2012, she joined Coventry University on a full-time researcher role and continues to work closely with Centre for Business in Society colleagues as an associate researcher.
