I am a Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences here at Cardiff University where I teach on the BSc in Social Analytics and across a range of education modules. I am also a member of the Q-Step Centre.
I am a broad-based social scientist whose work mainly centers on the sociology of education. My work is concerned with understanding educational inequality and the consequences this has for people’s life-chances and their identities. Much of my research so far has focused on how young people form goals and plans regarding education and the labour market. I’m also interested in studying the origins, development and stratification of values, pro-social preferences and moral worldviews.
