Biography

I qualified as an Optometrist in 1992 after a pre registration year at Moorfields Eye Hospital where I stayed on as a staff member advancing to Senior Optometrist. I joined the RNIB in 1998 were I was Deputy Head of the Eye Health Team and the clinical lead at the Camden and Islington Low Vision Center which I established.

I now continue my low vision practice as Low Vision Lead Optometrist at St Thomas Hospital, London.

I also work as a Module Leader (Low Vision and Clinical Teaching) at the Welsh Optometric Postgraduate center, Cardiff University and I am  Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

As part of the team at SeeAbility I work clinically with children in special schools. I also work towards the policy objective of establishing dedicated pathways for eye care for people wiht learning disability and autism, in schools, in the community and in the hosptial setting.
