Andrew Grubb is a Senior Immigration Judge in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the Upper Tribunal. He is also a Recorder sitting in the Crown Court. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Prior to taking up a judicial post, he was Professor of Medical Law, Head of Cardiff Law School and Director of the Cardiff Centre for Ethics, Law and Society.
Previously, he was Professor of Health Care Law and Director of the Centre of Medical Law and Ethics King's College London and lecturer at Cambridge University. He has been a Visiting Professor at Boston University and the University of New Mexico Law Schools.
He has been a member of a number of bioethics bodies including the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and the Ethics Committee of the Royal College of Physicians. Between 1992 and 2004 he was editor of the Medical Law Review. In 2004 he was appointed Training Immigration Adjudicator and in 2005 a Senior Immigration Judge in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal by the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs.
