I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1981 and worked clinically in musculoskeletal field gaining professional recognition MACP in 1991. I moved into education at Cardiff University in 1994 subsequently achieving PGCE 1996, MSc in Physiotherapy 1999 and a PgD in Health Ergonomics 2005. My main area of experience is musculoskeletal physiotherapy and ergonomics and I am programme manager for MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy with MACP validation. Recently interest has grown in the area of work related disorders and their effects upon the body with special emphasis on the physiotherapy profession. My research involves quantitative and qualitative approaches to this issue.





My research interest is the study of occupational musculoskeletal conditions with a specific concentration on the physiotherapy profession. Health Professions Wales (incorporated into NLIAH) project on Band 5 physiotherapists perceptions of therapeutic patient handling.
