Since joining Cardiff, Carlos Ugalde has taught at all levels from Year 1 undergraduate to MSc students, from school-level modules in large teaching theatres, down to 1 to 1 supervision. His teaching effectiveness has been recognised by colleagues and students, with an excellent Module Evaluation average for lecture delivery since joining Cardiff (4.5/5). His competence has been rewarded with three "Teaching of the Year Awards" in recognition of excellence in teaching for the following modules:

  • Automatic Control (academic session 2017-2018)
  • Grid Integration of Renewables (academic session 2015-2016)
  • Grid Integration of Renewables (academic session 2013-2014)

He was a runner-up for a 2018 Cardiff University Celebrating Excellence Award for "Excellence in Teaching".
