Rhys Pullin is a Reader in Performance Engineering working in the area of Non-destructive Evaluation (NDE). He is a Charetred Engineer and a Fellow of the IMechE. His primary area of research is Structural Health Monitoring using Acoustic Emission (AE) and Acousto-Ultrasonics (AU) in metallic and composite aerospace components.

Recently however research work has focused on Energy Harvesting using radio frequency transmission, vibration and thermal differences and wireless data transmission with the aim of developing autonomous SHM systems for aerospace applications.

Dr Pullin has completed research programmes for Airbus, Boeing, EADS, Mercedes F1, Ministry of Defence, Centre for Defence Enterprise and SKF. He is a member of the National Committee for the British Society of Strain Measurement.
