Overview

My particular researc focus is on the application of microwave engineering to the field of materials science. I am a member of Prof. Oliver Williams laboratory where I am particularly focused on the heteroepitaxial growth of polycrystalline diamond on various substrates using microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition (CVD).

My currently active research areas:

  • Microwave plasma CVD diamond  
    • CVD diamond growth on gallium nitride (GaN) - GaN-DaME Project
    • Superconducting boron doped diamond microwave resonators 
  • Microwave modelling (finite element method)
    • Microwave plasma modelling in CVD reactors
    • Microwave cavity/dielectric resonators for dielectric spectroscopy
    • Microwave co-planar structure designs for superconducting diamond 
    • Thermal stresses induced during microwave CVD in diamond wafer stacks
  • Microwave dielectric spectroscopy and material measurements
    • Freestanding CVD diamond films
    • Micro/nano carbon powders including nanodiamond
    • Electrically conducting diamond films
