Overview

I am a Research Dietitian, and Research Associate in the School of Healthcare Sciences. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, I conduct mixed-methods research to increase understanding of, and improve, nutritional care for patients.

Biography

I am a research dietitian with a background in clinical practice. I qualified as a dietitian in 2011, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics from UWIC, and worked as an acute hospital dietitian from 2011 to 2017. I was awarded my PhD on the topic of dietary advice and management for people with an ileostomy, in 2022 from the University of Bristol.

I am Research Associate for the NIHR funded I-Prehab project, mixed-methods evaluation research to enhance access, acceptance and adherence of prehabilitation to address inequity in cancer outcomes.

I am the advisory dietitian for the NIHR funded Joint-PREP study, feasibility trial of prehabilitation prior to hip or knee replacement surgery, at the University of Bristol and North Bristol NHS Trust.

I have several publications on the topic of dietary advice and management for people with an ileostomy.

My research interests include dietary advice and management for people with a stoma, and dietary management in gastrointestinal disorders and surgery.
