Overview

I am interested in the physics of compound semiconductor materials, relating their physical properties to the functional properties of optoelectronic and electronic devices. I collaborate extensively with the UK nitrides consortium and other higher education institutions and semiconductor manufacturers in the US and Japan in developing technologies for the next generations of ultra-wide bandgap devices.

Articles

Research

My research interests include the fabrication and characterisation of optoelectronic devices. Currently, I am working in partnership with my collaborators to develop technologies for manufacturing deep UV photodetectors and light emitters. I am also interested in developing and applying multimodal, correlative light-electron microscopy techniques for the reliability and failure analysis of compound semiconductor devices. This involves the exploration of transport properties of fundamental energy carriers, such as electrons at the smallest length and time scales.
