Overview
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Senior Clinical / Academic Tutor on the South Wales Doctoral Course in Clinical Psychology. My roles include, supporting trainees, delivering teaching and supervising doctoral theses. I oversee the curriculum for the second year, which is informed by HCPC and BPS requirements, as well as the requirements for BABCP & AFT accreditation.
I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS since 2010, mainly with children, young people and families. I have particular interest in attachment and early trauma, including the impact of adverse childhood experiences and adverse community environments. In recent years I have focussed on delivering training and consultation to multi-professional groups who work with children and families in the community, and providing trauma-informed consultations for looked after children. I draw on systemic theory and the Power Threat Meaning Framework as overarching principles of my practice.
