Overview

Dr Sahar Alimohammadi is a research associate at Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research group (MSKBRF) working on developing a device for hand rehabilitation of patients with acute and chronic hand disorders. Hand therapy with this novel rehabilitation device will accelerate the return of functionality to the patient. She works on computer aided design aspects, electronic and programming to develop the device and address clinical requirements with patient’s feedback.

During her PhD in magnetic and material group at Cardiff university, she investigated Matteucci effect on amorphous wires and designed a wearable sensor for patients with Dupuytren’s disease. She then immediately joined the same research team as a research associate to develop a hand therapy device in gloves format. She also had contributions on developing UV protection visor for XP patients.
