Overview
Dr. Guoqian Ren has been studied architecture design and urban planning. He is now working on Building information modeling towards an innovative project information management based on engineering/procurement knowledge.
His main research interest lies in the standardized information exchange process, ontological knowledge base, digital twins, data-driven decision-making, linked data, big data, and machine learning across sectors throughout the urban infrastructure project life cycle. Guoqian is also exploring the way of improving the public procurement management strategy using supported engineering information and high-quality data.He has been working in BIM-based standardized development, data schema extension, and procurement decision-making in infrastructure engineering and contributes to the project management, training, research workshop, and platform development in the research team.
Biography
Guoqian studied as an Architect (BArch), then got a MArch in University College London (UCL) and a Ph.D. (Engineering) regarding Building information modeling at Cardiff University. He is now working as a Research associate at the school of engineering, Cardiff University.
