I started my role as a receptionist at the School of Welsh in 2019. In this role, my duties include providing various administrative support for the general professional services at the School. These include the administration of the School’s financial income and expenditure processes, health and safety and sustainability issues. I lead on the organisation of room booking and the scheduling of undergraduate and postgraduate lectures and seminars.
As a member of the Academic Support Team, I assist with arrangements for student events including Open and Visiting Days, undergraduate and postgraduate examinations and assessments and the recording of marks on SIMS. I also input links and rubrics on Learning Central and release marks in accordance with the School’s assessment timetable. I also update information on the School’s modules and programmes and input the relevant information into SIMS.
Originally from Aberystwyth, I graduated with a BSc in Psychology from Bangor University in 2017. I worked in the Aberystwyth area over the following two years - working as a teaching assistant in a local primary school, as School Liaison Officer with Arad Goch Theatre Company, and in an administrative role with Merched y Wawr. I moved to Cardiff and started my current job at the University in October 2019.
