Overview

I am a research associate in the Neurodevelopment Assessment Unit (NDAU) at Cardiff University. At the NDAU, we conduct in-depth assessments of young children who have been identified as ‘at-risk’ for emotional and behavioural difficulties, by teachers and professionals involved in the child’s support system at school.

Research summary

My research is centred on the complexities of the emotional development of children displaying early signs of neurodevelopmental problems. I am also interested in statistical techniques grounded in dynamic methods for assessing children’s self-regulation and co-regulation that takes place between children and their parents. Currently, I am leading on our COVID-19 study assessing the psychosocial effects of the pandemic, focusing on mental health and wellbeing, and the socioeconomic impact of the pandemic on our vulnerable children and families.
