Overview

I am Lecturer in Critical Social Psychology at the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University, UK. I hold an MA in psychology and a PhD in philosophy.

My main interests are the critique of (neuro)psychology, (neuro)psychologisation, and, related to this, the subject of the digital turn. My inspiration is continental philosophy, Freudo-Lacanian theory and ideology critique.

My books include The Digitalisation of (Inter)Subjectivity A Psy-critique of the Digital Death Drive (Routledge, 2020), The Metamorphoses of the Brain. Neurologisation and its Discontents (Palgrave, 2016) and Psychologisation in Times of Globalisation (Routledge, 2012). http://janrdevos.weebly.com/books.html
