Biography

After completing a BSc with Honours in Zoology, I received BDS with Distinction in Restorative Dentistry in 2005 from Newcastle University.

I completed my General Professional Training in 2007 and was successful in becoming a member of the Dental Faculty of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. I studied for my PhD, and obtained both clinical and general teaching qualifications, alongside Senior and Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Before coming to Cardiff, I was appointed at Newcastle as a Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry between 2012 and 2017, as a Training Programme Director for DCT1 (HEE) from 2011-2013 and as a Senior Clinical Teacher and Honorary Consultant at Sheffield from 2017-2020.

I enjoy engaging with colleagues across Europe whilst chairing the Pan-European Special Interest group in Clinical Skills Teaching, and as part of the European Curriculum Review Taskforce for Dentistry and Dental Hygiene and Therapy
