Jane Graves

Overview

Jane became Executive Administrator for the Accounting and Finance Section in July 2023, having previously joined Cardiff Business School in November 2021 as the Administrator for the UK Government Help to Grow: Management programme.

Jane began her working career as Assistant Librarian at Henley the Management College, before moving onto roles working with engineers at Research Machines [RM]. In addition to being a self-employed bookkeeper, Jane has been a co-founder and Company Secretary for two SMEs. 

Since joining Cardiff University Jane has had a number of different roles and responsibilities including Events Officer for the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research and Data (WISERD), and as Administrator for the Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering (CITER);  Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre of Excellence; and for the Cardiff Child Development Study.  

Jane has also been on secondment with the School of Law and Politics (2019-2021) as the Conference Co-ordinator for firstly the African Studies Association UK conference (cancelled due to the pandemic) and then the Social Legal Studies Association (SLSA)  conference. This was the SLSA's first ever virtual three-day conference and attracted more than 760 delegates from over 40 countries with a final programme of 491 accepted oral presentations, a poster competition, four plenary sessions and exhibitors.
