Overview

I joined Cardiff University in 2020 as the manager of the Decarbonising Transport through Electrification Network+ as well as a researcher in the field of batteries and chargers.

I have designed and help build the battery testing facilities in the university and have been using and testing second hand electric vehicle batteries .

I am always interested in making contact with battery manufacturers as well as battery management and charging specialists.

Research

Extreme environmental events are becoming more common with the situation expected to deteriorate. My aim is to develop engineering solutions that are going to be future proof and able to tackle any sudden environmental changes and ensure the stability of systems.

I am very interested in getting the most out of batteries, trying to find and test safe second hand applications for them.

My broad research interests include:

  • Development of hybrid storage systems
  • Vehicle electrification and retrofitting
  • High Voltage and pressure battery testing
  • Battery asset management
  • Battery recycling and aging studies
  • Thermal runaway
  • Ongoing design, building and expanding the battery testing facilities in the Engineering department.
