I have returned to my substantive post of Executive Officer at the National Software Academy where, since 2015, I have responsibility for heading-up the administrative-side of operations at the National Software Academy (NSA), part of the Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University. Managing the ‘lifecycle’ for students enrolled on programmes at the NSA and supporting the staff and lecturers at the NSA. My varied role ensures the coordination and smooth running of the BSc Applied Software Engineering, MSc Software Engineering and Degree Apprenticeship programmes. My job is to sure the programmes integrate efficiently with existing processes in the School of Computer Science and Informatics. I take care of everything from student queries and processes, event management and logistics coordination, stakeholder investment, including external company and organisation engagement and progressing curriculum developments.
From May 2020 to May 2021 I secured a secondment to Project Manager of the Data Science Academy (DSA) to cover maternity leave. I was responsible for coordinating the management of the Data Science Academy project, organising the various stakeholder interests to ensure the effective delivery and timely execution of scheduled checkpoints and deadlines. Working through Covid situation posed new challenges in delivering an already ambitious project, but the opportunity to further my development and work with new and existing colleagues, within and external to the University to ensure the project is a success was invaluable.
I graduated with an upper second in BA(Hons) Product Design, have a PGDip in Rapid Product Development, and an MA in Creative Digital Media. I’ve also run my own business, worked in many different environments, including car rental, mortgage consultancy, and Cardiff University Business School’s quality-department.
My typical working hours are generally between 8:30am-4:30pm
