I have secured a secondment to Project Manager of the Data Science Academy (DSA) until May 2020, to cover maternity leave. I am responsible for coordinating the management of the project, organising the various stakeholder interests to ensure the effective delivery and timely execution of scheduled checkpoints and deadlines. The current situation will pose new challenges to deliver an already ambitious project, but I am excited to be given the opportunity to further my development and work with new and existing colleagues, within and external to the University to ensure the project is a success.
Prior to the DSA, my substansive post was to head-up the admin-side of operations at the National Software Academy (NSA), managing the ‘lifecycle’ for students enrolled on programmed at the NSA and supporting the staff and lecturers at the NSA. My varied role was to ensure the coordination and smooth running of the BSc Applied Software Engineering and MSc Software Engineering programmes. It was my job to make sure the programmes integrate efficiently with existing processes in the School of Computer Science and Informatics. I took care of everything from student queries and processes, event coordination and management, stakeholder investment and progressing curriculum developments.
I graduated with an upper second in BA(Hons) Product Design, have a PGDip in Rapid Product Development, and an MA in Creative Digital Media. I’ve also run my own business, worked in many different environments, including car rental, mortgage consultancy, and Cardiff University Business School’s quality-department.
My typical working hours are generally between 8:30am-4:30pm
