Overview
My research focuses on developing new therapeutic strategies to treat aggressive, hard to treat prostate cancers.
In the UK around 1 in 8 men will develop prostate cancer within their lifetime. A high proportion of these men will present with localised disease and outlive their cancer without the need for invasive therapy, however for those with late stage prostate cancer that has spread beyond the prostate the prognosis is poor with the disease no longer curable.
Through my work I hope to improve our understanding of late stage prostate cancer and to develop novel targeted therapies that may one day be used in the clinic to improve outlook for men with this disease.
