Overview

Hello reader. Thank you for taking an interest in my profile

I have instructed, researched and written about both Politics and Law since 1988. During that time I have taught at six  universities on both sides of the Atlantic.

I have worked for Lord Hailsham, Lady Thatcher, and Lord Denning (the latter as editor of the Denning Law Journal).

I have also been editor of the Journal of Business Education.

In addition to other publications, including a book, I have contributed to the Oxford Dictionary of Law since 1997.

I have also worked for the Security Services.

My research interests include: Public International Law; Jurisprudence; International Trade and the historical development of the Common Law.

 

 

Teaching

I currently teach World Trade Law, International Sales Law and the Law of Contract.

 

In the past I have taught Public International Law, Jurisprudence, Consumer Law, the Law of Tort, Public Law, Medical Law, Criminal Law, Legal Skills, English Legal System; Media Law, European Union Law; Introduction to Law for Accountants, the Law of Agency, as well as supervising dissertations.

I have also taughts US an British political systems.

 

Biography

 

I have taught and researched at the University of Chester, Edge Hill University, Buckinghamshire New University, the University of Buckingham, Virginia Tech and State University and the University of Nottingham.

I single-handedly set up an LL.B. Programme.

I have have edited two academic journals (The Denning Law Journal and the Journal of Business Education).

At present I am currently an external examiner and have carried out this role, including being chief external examiner, at seven universities and colleges in the United Kingdom.

I have published in the areas of Public International Law and English Legal History.

I have regularly published for Oxford University Press since 1997.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Honours and awards

Nominated by students for consideration as part of the Open University Student Association Tutor Awards 2022.

I was especially listed among the 175 anonymous nominations.
