In 2012 I graduated from the University of Granada with a Master of Research in Translation and Interpreting studies, previous to this I studied an undergraduate degree in Translation and Interpreting at Granada.

After completing my studies I taught Spanish as a Foreign Language, Translation and Interpreting modules at Ulster University. I joined the Hispanic Studies Department at Cardiff University in 2015 and I am currently teaching Spanish language and Translation modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In regards to my administrative duties, I am Programme Director of Spanish and Portuguese for the Languages for All Programme and Language Coordinator for Year 2 Spanish Language.

My research interests lie in the fields of Translation in Language Teaching and Learning, Legal Translation, Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.

My master's thesis focuses on the sworn translation of Nigerian legal documents into Spanish and explores the cultural and liguistic challenges involved in the translation process.

At present I am working on the use of audiovisual material in the Spanish as a Second Language classroom, particularily the use of TV Series in the translation classes.
