Carolyn Donoghue has held the post of College registrar, in the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences at Cardiff University since June 2013. This is the most senior administrative post in the College, which is the largest in the University, with responsibility for all professional services.
Her experience includes over 20 years working in the National Health Service and 10 years in Higher Education. Carolyn trained as a Registered General Nurse, qualifying in July 1985. She worked subsequently in a number of clinical posts before moving into staff development and then general NHS management, before moving in to Higher Education.
Previous posts have included; Assistant Manager for the Eye Hospital, Project Manager for Cancer Services and General Manager for Dental Services. Following a two-year stay in Perth, Western Australia, from 1998 to 2000, she returned to the UK as Service Agreements Manager at North Bristol Trust before taking up the post as General Manager for Dental Services in 2001. She then moved to Higher Education as Faculty Manager for Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Bristol.
Qualifications include; Registered General Nurse, Certificate in Training and Development and a Masters in Management.
