I am working as a Research Associate in Developmental Imaging at the Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC). My role is to expand our understanding of the developing brain using diffusion MRI data acquired on our unique Connectom scanner. In addition, my role is to facilitate the development and implementation of child imaging at CUBRIC.

If you would like to enquire about child or adolescent imaging at CUBRIC, please feel free to email me!

Committees and reviewing

I have peer-reviewed for the following journals:

  • NeuroImage, NeuroImage: Clinical, Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Psychological Medicine, NeuroReport, Addiction, International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience.

My research interests are in characterising the structural development of the brain using advanced diffusion MRI methods. I have a particular interest in the transition from childhood to adolescence, and how mental health problems can lead typical development to go awry.

My PhD was focused on examining the influence of pubertal onset on white matter development in childhood. I applied various advanced microstructural models to understand cross-sectional and longitudinal associations, and related this back to cognition and behaviour.

I am interested in supervising PhD students in the areas of:

  • Child and adolescent neurodevelopment
  • Structural brain development
  • Clinical applications of diffusion MRI
