My primary research interests concern the biosynthesis of menthol in the genus Mentha. Using the knowledge of the menthol biosynthesis pathway in Mentha spp. my work aims to increase the overall essential oil yield, and to improve the composition through downregulation of undesirable side products.

2018 - JSPS Short Term Postdoctoral Fellowship: Awarded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, this provided funding for a three month tenure at Miyagi University, Japan.
2017 - Junior Scientist Travel Grant: Awarded from the Genetics Society to present a poster at the EMBO 2017 Meiosis Conference in Hvar, Croatia.
